Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsAnn Prete,
Debris does tend to collect around locks, though it seldom gets that bad.
Usually there is none at all. This is definitely not typical. Spring
rains do flood creeks and then the creeks spew debris into the canal and it
does take a few days for it to go away.
Still, this particular lock operator should be flogged. Just my opinion.

I have heard and read so much about the loop and how spectacular it is
along the canals and intercoastal. Yet from this picture, the amount
of debris along this canal route does not look inviting at all?
Wasn't expecting.
Anyone want to share their comments greatly appreciated.
Thanks - Ann
