Some of the questions asked centered around what members felt were the most important functions of the club, and how the club should allocate resources. When asked to rank the importance of various activities of the NCA, both "Preserve and protect the Newfoundland breed" and "Work to improve the health of Newfoundland dogs" were rated "most important" by 91% of the members and overall got 7.4 and 7.7 out of ten respectively for resource allocation. A majority of the members, 74%, felt that the NCA does not spend enough on Health and Longevity with it capturing 8%** of the current annual budget.
