Dear Colleagues,

The International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) is seeking experienced legal professionals to present in our upcoming webinar series for late summer and early fall of 2025. We are particularly interested in speakers who can provide insight into pressing legal issues facing municipal attorneys and government agencies.
Topics of Interest:

Federal vs. Local Authority – Litigation risks and financial implications that arise from federal-local tensions.

Short Term Rentals: Policies, Code Enforcement and Litigation - Short-term rental regulations, code enforcement practices, and the associated litigation risks and legal challenges faced by communities.

  • Police Reform & Public Safety – Updates on qualified immunity, law enforcement accountability, and policy changes.
  • AI & Government Decision-Making – Ethical and legal considerations for AI use in municipal operations.
  • Zoning & Affordable Housing – Legal trends in land use regulations and state preemption issues.
  • Environmental & Climate Litigation – Local government responses to climate change and enforcement challenges.
  • Public Records & Open Government – Compliance with transparency laws and digital record retention.
  • Cybersecurity & Data Privacy – Government liability, breach response, and evolving privacy laws.
