How long did you take to make this trip?? (Trenton to Port Severn).
Thanks

Nancy,
Good question Cap. We started the Trent-Severn on May23 and cleared the last
lock on June 16. In no way would we spend less time than that. There is just
too much to see and do.
Gotta run rt now but will give info on Georgian Bay and N Channel later.

Nancy,
Georgian Bay took us 20 days to get through.
North Channel 10 days.
We really should have spent more time there but we did not have any idea how
long we would spend on Lake Huron dwn to the Detroit river and then across
Lake Erie back into the Erie Canal to Geneva. What we know now would be to
spend 30 days on Georgian Bay and 20 days on the North Channel.
You must decide on seeing the sights or burning diesel fuel.
I think that we spent 3 weeks on the Rideau and that is what abt 135 miles
or so.

We did the T/S in less than two weeks, but that did not do justice to it. I
would like to have spent much more time, but he Admiral . . . . after almost
a year aboard. I am close enuf to go back to the T/S from Lake Superior on
another visit.
When planning for guests, remember to tell them that you can meet them at a
time OR a place, but cannot commit to a time AND a place. Schedules lead to
disasters. We would always try to be within one hundred miles when
estimating arrangements for guests and they knew they would have to get to
us. We had guests aboard about 7 times while on the loop and it worked
well. There are many reasons to delay or modify your schedule when doing
the loop.

Nancy:
We took 12 days and wish we had taken more time -- maybe 15-16
days. There are some charming spots along the way. And, Alan is
right (as usual), don't miss the "Big Chute."

Should you wish to have guests start their visit at Peterbourgh and stay
through the Big Chute. Plan to spend a night at either Port Severn or Midland.
We can provide shuttle service from either to Orillia.

P.S. Charles is right. They kind of blew through Georgian Bay.
