Henry,
Thanks for the  good report, I look forward to hearing more from you after
you
take poisson,  but in the meantime what were some of the changes made by
individual owners,  and what changes are you making to you new boat.
Marv

Marv, we're not planning to take "poisson" for at least a year, so  we're
still thinking about our options.  I'd still like to see  some more performance
data before making a final decision on  the 75 vs 100 hp question.  I assume
we'll go with AC and  a generator, but again that's not final -- we've never
owned a  boat with a generator, or AC for that matter.
One interesting option we saw was a Car-craft(?) heater which uses  engine
cooling water to heat the cabin.  It's a bargain (at around $1000  installed)
compared to the Espar diesel furnace (for which they charge about  $8000).
My wife wants a three-burner gas cook top (standard is a 2-burner)  and a
combo microwave/convection oven so she can bake.  She likes to  cook.
One option we're leaning toward is the addition of  overhead hatches.  These
can be added in the galley, head and aft  bedrooms (for a mere $550 ea).
Another option we liked is the fold-down  table at the settee next to the helm
station, it provides another working space  in addition to the dining table.
Some of their fancier custom stuff involved  special TV/entertainment
cabinetry, built-in ice-makers, etc.  Even a  washer/dryer is offered, but I think
we'll pass on that, this is only a  34-footer after all, and weight is a big
factor.
For a big price ($8900) they offer a "quiet package" which uses the  Aqua
drive system to damp down engine vibrations.  Here again, I'm not  sure the
slight improvement is worth the hefty price -- and added complication,  but I guess
this has been a popular option for those coming from  sailboats.  So far, I
haven't seen any data on the actual effectiveness of  this silencing system.
So I guess we've got lots to think about, and still quite a bit of  time.
Perhaps some PDQ owners will speak up -- on this list?  -- and say what they
like or dislike about their boats and their  options.
