Senators Patty Murray (D - WA) and Lamar Alexander (R - TN) were the primary co-sponsors for the resolution. There were six additional co-sponsors:
Richard Durbin (D - IL)
Thad Cochran (R - MS)
Susan Collins (R - ME)
Joe Donnelly (D - IN)
Christopher Murphy (D - CT)
Jack Reed (D - RI)
The text of the resolution is attached for your reference, and the link to it on the Congress.gov site is here:

The delay in introducing the resolution was due to the larger situation around health care legislation.
Feel free to share this update with your networks, and be sure to contact your Senators to thank them. A thank-you sentence such as "thank you for consenting to S.Res.277 designating this week as Adult Education and Family Literacy Week" makes a great lead-in to a brief update on your programs' recent activities and achievements!
And thank you to all of you for raising awareness through your AEFL Week activities and for all that you do to promote adult education and family literacy.
Cordially,
Deborah
