Camp dates and themes
July 9-13: Museum Mania - Go Behind the Scenes
Kids go behind the scenes to become museum pros during this summer camp. Each day, campers will learn about a different aspect of what makes a museum work and how to craft a great exhibition. They'll also develop their own individual mini exhibit, complete with their very own exhibit opening at the end of the week! Kids receive special access to the Historical Society's collections, and the museum's skilled exhibitions team will support campers in crafting their own unique creations.

July 16-20: Washington Explorers
Learn about Washington State history through exploration and adventure. We'll head outside to try our hand at sketching local plants and wildlife just like Scottish botanist David Douglas did in the early 1800s; we'll navigate the neighborhood using environmental information like the explorers Captain Meriwether Lewis and Second Lieutenant William Clark; and we'll keep a log of our adventures like astronaut Bonnie Dunbar (who lived in Washington and was president of the Museum of Flight!).

July 23-27: Washington's History Mysteries
Kids become historians at the History Mystery summer camp. Each day, campers will unravel a mystery related to a unique artifact. While they're sleuthing, they'll learn about Washington from the state's first peoples to Oregon Trail adventures and mountain eruptions. Let's just say, history is not for wimps!
