Thanks for that. I vividly remember that exact race. I wanted to dnf too but Matt and I held on and got a 2nd to Paul Kisala's 1st in our division. Too bad most of the "dsq"s came from crews that were not wearing lifejackets that night.
We did hear the RC broadcast to all crews about life jacket requirement.
Odalisque would always consider racing until mid September.

Now that was an exciting race, despite my DSQ!
Currently on Block Island and enjoying getting back into cruising.
It was fun seeing Matt Lydon and his son in the pond (Great Salt Pond).
It would be great to have a longer racing season, and to be able to cruise as well. Many of us have boats that yearn for bluer waters .
If I wanted to only race and sail locally, certainly a less expensive and faster boat would work better. The current situation goes against those who want to cruise their boats or have other summer travel plans. I would suggest a larger number of throw outs, perhaps one in five, and increase the Wednesday night series to 20 races.
