Don't forget the clean, clear, cool, fresh water of the Canadian canals.
We took many a swim up there, not so in the Erie or some of the US rivers.

Now David,
Have you been to the finger lakes? You can drink from them.The Tenn. River,
land between the lakes, etc all offer clear clean swimming. There are
places in both systems countries where you can and can not swim.
I have been very disappointed by the lack of pump out facilities in Canada
when many small boats spend 2 weeks vacationing on the canals. Buckets are
in use so I wouldn't swim unless up in the
Lake areas on either canal system.
