Sorry to hear about the loss of your boat!  Thieft is much more frequent that you might think--especially a fully outfited boat.  Shortly before we were to leave for a 4 year voyage a man came by and started asking a number of questions--I just said I worked for the owner and didn't know anything about the boat.  That night the liveaboard on the boat next to mine noticed a noise at 2 AM and appeared on deck with a shotgun--chased the thiefs off.  The next day another similar size boat was stolen in the middle of the day.  The thieves had on uniforms similar to those worn by the shipyard employees.  The boat was found in Mexico a week later, the thieves were arrested, but some how never made it back to US for extradition.

After that, I slept on the boat each night until we left--and always closed the fuel valves when we left the boat.  While cruising we nearly always put the dinghy on the deck at night.  One night we failed to do this--and despite foul weather the 13 dinghy with 25 hp motor was gone the next AM--The cable to the bow was still padlocked onto the boat--and the bow eye cut off the dinghy.

I certainly you hope that you find the boat--and that this warning promotes others to take security precautions.
