Hi all, just wanted to give you news about an exciting
opportunity/announcement!

The 120th St. Ecohouse in Parkland is looking for a new owner. You may
know of it from various events on this list (garden tours, permaculture
classes, etc).

To make a long story short, the house has not yet been appraised but
could potentially be sold at a higher-than-appraised price this month.
Or once the bank owns it outright next month, negotiations can begin
with the bank to get it for a more reasonable price. The community in
the house is currently sending out feelers for
potential buyers and would find it handy to tell the bank that buyers
are interested in such-and-such price range. It might save the house
from sitting empty for a few years while the bank takes it's time.

It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house, with one bedroom having a small
kitchenette. Rent varies from $1400-$1600 a month when fully occupied.
There are extensive gardens, greenroof, cob oven, poultry areas, various
composting and ecological building projects and (currently) a community
of people (7 adults, 1 child) who know how to work together. Our
Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/120thStEcoHouse?fref=ts (with
some recently posted pictures of the garden). There is a 1000 gallon
water cistern and graywater system; these may or may not stay with the
house (up to negotiation with the current owner).

If you are interested please send an email to 120thstecohouse@gmail.com
or message us on Facebook, and we'll share the exact address and give
you a tour. We meet as a house every Sunday at 7pm if you'd like to meet
all of us at once.

Thank you!
