CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS WITH MUSEUM OF GLASS!

With a variety of activities, performances, and demonstrations, a trip to the Museum has something for everyone to enjoy this season

HOLIDAY HOURS
Museum of Glass and the Museum Storehttps://museumofglassstore.org/ will be closed Saturday, December 25 and Saturday, January 1, 2022.

The Museum and Museum Store will be open Monday and Tuesday the week between Christmas and New Year's: December 26 - 31, 10am-5pm. That's two extra days to warm up by our fire!

IN THE GRAND HALL AND THEATER
Throughout December Museum of Glass will welcome performances by local musical groups, including:

  • Twedt Holiday Musicale
  • Kareem Kandi World Orchestra
  • Lindsey Bell Ringers
  • Tacoma Banjo Club
  • Music Works 4 Veterans

IN THE MUSEUM STORE
The Museum Store is freshly stocked with new items, including holiday ornaments and handmade gifts from the MOG Hot Shop Team and local artists. In addition to ornaments, there is a wide selection of jewelry, home decor, apparel, and Made at MOG vases and drinkware to fill your holiday decorating and shopping needs.

From December 15-19, MOG members receive an additional 10% discount in the Museum Store. Offer is valid in-store only and some exceptions do apply.

IN THE HOT SHOP
Enjoy the Museum's popular Hot Shop experience, where you'll witness art in the making. The Museum of Glass Hot Shop Team will be doing daily demos with some holiday themes.

Visiting Artist Beccy Feather, December 15-19

  • Feather is a British-born glassmaker who navigates daily between the roles of production flameworker, artist, and educator. Her artwork is a mixture of fine craft, humor, and home science.

Visiting Artist Trenton Quiocho, December 26-28

  • A Tacoma-based artist, Quiocho is dedicated to the craft of glass and youth development through art. He began his explorations in glass as a student in Tacoma and has continued with the material for over a decade.
    IN THE EDUCATION STUDIO
    After being closed throughout the pandemic, the MOG Education Studio is reopening on December 26! Drop in from 1-4pm daily and try your hand at a holiday craft.

IN THE GALLERIES
There is much to see in the galleries. Explore the diversity of creative voices that nave been amplified by joint artist residencies at Pilchuck Glass School and Museum of Glass in What Are You Looking At? An Eccentric Chorus of Artists Working in Glass. Get transported back to the early twentieth-century France in René Lalique: Art Deco Gems from the Steven and Roslyn Shulman Collection. Learn about the seven elements of art in Counterparts: Glass + Art Elements.

IN THE CAFÉ
Museum of Glass is excited to partner with The Tablehttps://www.thetabletacoma.com/ to provide a new dining concept to the downtown community. Incalmohttps://www.thetabletacoma.com/incalmo, The Table's take on an Italian style taverna, will offer a locally sourced, freshly made menu featuring pasta, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and more.

Mark your calendar for the opening on December 17. The restaurant will initially operate Museum hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-5pm, with plans for future expansion.
