The details:
There are only a couple of weeks remaining until the ASA allocates
sessions for the 2009 meeting in San Francisco. Join now to ensure CITASA
members have the most opportunities to present their work. The number of
sessions allocated is directly tied to the size of paid membership. CITASA
currently has 280 paid members, we need 300 to receive two sessions, 400
members for three sessions.
By joining the American Sociological Association's section on
Communication and Information Technologies you are supporting the field by
increasing the likelihood that your work and work like yours will be
presented at the ASA annual meeting. CITASA also supports a number of
activities that depend on funds raised through membership fees, such as
the ASA reception, the annual pre-conference, pre-conference mentoring
sessions for graduate students, and the section website and email list.
Some benefits are only available to members, such as an 80% discount on an
individual subscription to the journal Information, Communication and
Society (iCS). The section also publishes an annual special issue of iCS
that consists of papers presented at the ASA annual meeting in the area of
communications, IT, and media studies.
Help us build the section and the field!
