Hey List!

Does anyone have any experience with a Mainship 36 - with twin Perkins 200hp
turbos?

I'm trying to determine what performance one could reasonability expect from
that combination?

Cruise Speed?  Top Speed?  Econ Speed & GPH?

Also - why is the exhaust ported out midships on each side? This seems to be
more noisey and provide increased fumes - are other boats like this?

Any info will be appreciated!

There is one on our dock.  It received an expensive awlgrip job over the
winter, but the diesels still smoke and the hull is black from the exhaust
ports about 1-2 ft back and flared out.

I will ask the owner about performance stats.

I was able to talk to one of the owners.  She said that this particular Mainship
36 was originally equipped with 454 gas and was repowered with Hino
diesels.  Her best estimate is that they cruise at about 14-15 kn. at 2800
rpm.  At this rate, she estimates that they burn about 9-10 gal/hr.
