Hey,

With NW winds blowing (and a threat of heavy snowsqualls later), the Ipperwash shoreline provided a fine movement this morning, Although short on big numbers, diversity was excellent.

Early on I had a Short-eared Owl come in from well off the lake, as I have seen them do a few times elsewhere. Two Parasitic Jaeger (both light adults) moved south well up, soaring and kiting in the strong winds, before cutting inland before Kettle Point. Four adult Greater White-fronted Geese flew by, mixed with Canadas, just as I was packing up.

Gull numbers were pretty low, with Bonies nearly absent. A moderate Herring Gull passage contained my first-for-fall Iceland Gull - a 1st cycle bird. Waterfowl were dominated by Bufflehead (475) and Common Goldeneye (150).

To reach Ipperwash Beach - from Hwy 21 take Army Camp Road to East Parkway and choose a spot.
