Today, Dec-2, we had 4 COMMON REDPOLL feeding in a birch tree
just across from a spruce grove on Milo Cove rd in West Hartland.
They eventually flew up and were joined by a single CROSSBILL
species which came out from the spruce grove heading south.
Also within the spruce grove was a Barred Owl which we got
within10 feet of. Very trusting Owl.

Late at the Barkhamsted res, around 4:15, from seville dam scoping
north, saw 4  BUFFLEHEAD close and a very far off raft of SCOTER which I
believe were BLACK SCOTER from the pale cheeks shown by some,
presumably females. It was getting dark and the count was estimated
as 50 to 80 birds.
