FYI

AFT hosts a platform called ShareMyLesson.comhttp://ShareMyLesson.com. It’s free, peer reviewed lesson plans and curricula for educators, by educators.

We just posted content for people to better understand, talk about and teach about the border crisis and these systemic human rights violations. Please feel free to use these materials in whatever way is most useful.

Humanitarian Crisis at the U.S. Border: Families Belong Together

We have been hearing parents, teachers and students question what happened and express worry, anxiety and fear about the humanitarian crisis on the U.S. southern border. Our members have a special role in the community, and our educators have a powerful responsibility to our students and their families. We have assembled lessons and resources for when you address the sensitive and emotionally charged topic of family separations and detentions at the border with your students and children.

The curated resource collections included here will be of help as you talk and teach about these current events.

You may also want to check out:

Our students and their families deserve to know that we are allies in the fight against human rights injustices.
