Observers:        Michelle Mastellotto

Visitors:
Thanks to Michelle for keeping me company today!

Weather:
It was a very warm day on the tower today, likely the last one for a while.
The winds were south, likely pushing many raptors north and out of sight.

Raptor Observations:
Today was very slow. Only 10 raptors were seen today mostly in the morning.
There were four red tails, a red shoulder, three harriers, one turkey
vulture, a sharpie and a coop. After two hours of hawkless skies I called
it a day. They were likely travelling out of sight to the north.

Non-raptor Observations:
The usuals were out and about today. The large numbers of coots were
present as well as gadwall and increasing numbers of green winged teal.
Shovelers, pintails and mallards were also present. A few tundra swans were
mixed in with the mutes. There were a few passer ones around the tower
including a few white throated sparrows, cardinals and chickadees. The palm
warbler is still around at the base of the tower.

Predictions:
Tomorrows weather will be more cloudy and slightly cooler with chances of
rain. Winds begin south but are forecasted to switch to northwest. If the
rain holds off it may bring in some hawks! This weekend and next week will
cool down significantly, hopefully bringing in the first rough legged hawks
of the season.
