Hello Gators,
FYI in case you are either not on our Facebook group or did not catch these
two posts today...

*OCTOBER-DECEMBER TRI CLUB WORKOUT CALENDAR (plus THIS WEEK IN TRI CLUB *at
the bottom of the post)...

Attached is our updated club workout calendar covering October-December. We
have a quarterly coaches meeting the month before the start of a new
quarter where we discuss the plans for the next three months and, if
needed, revise our club workout calendar and this is the end result from
our September meeting.

For those of you participating in the GFC, you will find lots of opportunities
to work towards your weekly goals!

Significant changes include...
RUN WORKOUTS: Moved from Wednesday nights to Monday nights. Note that we
may occasionally offer these in the morning or other days of the week, so
stay tuned for updates from our awesome running coach, Karen Dunn
https://www.facebook.com/karen.dunn.90834776?fref=gs&dti=216774858507294&hc_location=group
!

TUESDAY NIGHTS: We've transitioned from outdoor interval rides back to
indoor spin + strength/core/flexibility workouts that will start in the Y's
Spin Studio. One change from last year is that we have a SLIGHTLY EARLIER
START TIME of 7:15pm (and end at 8:45pm).

THURSDAY NIGHTS: Despite our statement that two weeks ago was our final
outdoor evening ride and again last week saying the same thing, we are
going to have one FINAL (we think) outdoor ride this coming Thursday led by Don
Mack
https://www.facebook.com/donald.mack.71?fref=gs&dti=216774858507294&hc_location=group
that
will include an SRT out and back from the dog park between 5:30pm-6:30pm.
But after that, starting next week on October 11, we'll be indoors on
Thursdays for a "cross training" workout that will start at 6:45pm in
Studio B at the Y. More coming on this soon, so stay tuned!

SATURDAY MORNINGS: As long as possible we're going to stay outdoors for
weekly group coached or uncoached rides that could take place in a variety
of locations (e.g. SRT, Blue Marsh, French Creek, etc). When weather is not
conducive to an outdoor ride, we'll move indoors for a fun-themed
music-filled trainer workout! We'll very likely be indoors starting
sometime in December, so you can expect a return of our "12 Days of
Christmas" workout!

Besides that our Monday and Wednesday evening swim workouts (8:30pm-9:30pm)
and Tuesday and Thursday morning swim workouts (10am-11am) will continue.

So with all of that said, here is this week's workout schedule:
MONDAY 10/1: 6:15pm-7:45pm "Git Dem Hills!" Run workout led by Karen Dunn
https://www.facebook.com/karen.dunn.90834776?fref=gs&dti=216774858507294&hc_location=group
and
8:30pm-9:30pm Swim workout led by Logan Washburn
https://www.facebook.com/logan.raewashburn?fref=gs&dti=216774858507294&hc_location=group

starting around 8am... Stay tuned for an event to be posted soon!

*GATOR FITNESS CHALLENGE STARTS TODAY!... *We have a total of 51 (so far)
participants in the fall edition of the Gator Fitness Challenge! Attached
is the tracking sheet that we will use (post a reply if your name is not
included and you would like to join in).

For a reminder of how you can earn up to two points per week, see the
bottom highlighted area of the sheet or read below. Remember that each week
STARTS on MONDAY and ENDS on SUNDAY. A "roll call" will be posted each Monday
giving you the opportunity to report your results... And occasionally over
the course of the GFC we'll post an updated spreadsheet with the results.

GFC points can be achieved by...
SBR CHALLENGE: Swim at least 30 minutes AND Bike/Spin at least 30 minutes
AND Run at least 30 minutes during the week. For week 1 only, this past
weekend's IRONMAN athletes can apply their event swim/bike/run to the GFC.

SCF CHALLENGE: Complete a grand total of at least 30 minutes of strength
AND/OR core AND/OR flexibility (e.g. yoga, stretching) training... Could be
achieved with a total of 30 minutes of one, 15 minutes of two, or ten
minutes of all three.

There will be many opportunities over the course of the week to get in your
time as part of club workouts (watch for our fall workout calendar to be
posted this week) or you can do them on your own.

This is a fun way for us to hold ourselves accountable to get in some
training over the fall months while at the same time not overdoing it and
giving our bodies a chance to recover from the past season. And the best
thing about the GFC is that you can join in at any time, so if you are not
starting with us at the start, no problem... You may want to join in
later... Just let us know and we'll add you to the roster.

Have fun and "let the challenge begin"!

Don
