To All
What started out as a potential repeat of last week, turned out to be an OK
evening to sail if you didnt mind the chill in the air, the big holes of no
wind when least expected, or some rather nasty 30° wind shifts along the
course.
Attached are the racing results. Please let me know if you find any
mistakes, changes needed, etc.
This might be a good time to review the Fleet Scoring rules:
TLE = Time Limit Expired = number of starters + 0. If at least one boat
completes the course, but the time limit elapses for other boats per the
Sailing Instructions (including the 30 minute rule), then the remaining
boats will get a TLE . This scoring category is new this year.
DNF = Did Not Finish = number of starters +1. (Please note, if a boat
withdraws without notifying the Race Committee she shall be scored a DSQ.)
DNS = Did Not Start = number of starters + 2. A starter is a boat that,
while underway, has registered to race, but does not cross the starting
line, not to exceed the number of registrants +1.
DNC = Did Not Compete = number of starters + 3, not to exceed the number of
registrants +1.
Thanks to everybody for having a PHRF this week.
It was wonderful to see Dave Otterbein this evening! We hope he will soon be
back in racing form.
Lastly, this weekend is the Memorial Day Regatta. Traditionally the Cruising
Fleet has had a poor showing at this event. The weather looks to be a
perfect forecast (Saturday 71°, sunny, winds WNW @ 10 15 mph; Sunday 81°,
mostly sunny, winds W at 10 12 mph.) I know Chris West has bought the
trophies, so it would be a shame to have them go to waste. The competition
is really cranking up in the Spinnaker Division, and the feeling is the more
the merrier.
See you on the water.
