Annual Picnic Reminder
Our annual picnic is coming up next Sunday, Aug 28th, from 4-8pm on the Park
Road esplanades. This year, we are introducing a Thai food caterer, and for
kids with more traditional tastes, we will also have pizza. The City of
Bellevue has provided us a cake, and we are planning for Bellevue Police and
Bellevue Fire Department folks to be here as well. Entertainment will
feature the popular bouncy houses, the return of the pony rides, and of
course, Dean-O the clown. We're looking forward to seeing you there! We
must ask that attendance is limited to owners and residents of homes in
Vuecrest. Thank you to our Social chair Sarah Wright for setting this all
up.
Esplanades Rocks!
On the advice of a consulting arborist, we have removed the river rock from
all areas around trees on the Park Road esplanades. The rocks were cutting
off access to air for the tree's roots to breathe, and our prized oak tree
has developed a related disease. We are pursuing additional treatment for
the oak tree, including root medicinals and selective pruning, as well as
more appropriate landscape treatment under all the trees. Thanks to
Landscape chair Rick Adell for driving this forward.
Thank You - Volunteers
Just a reminder that the folks taking care of our neighborhood, running
projects, ensuring we have great service providers, planning the great
events we enjoy, are all volunteers and your neighbors. We always need more
help and participation - please contact any of the board members at
directors@vuecrest.net or fill out the Contact Us form on the web site, or
talk to any of us at the picnic, and get more involved in your great
neighborhood!
Annual Meeting Reminder
Our annual meeting is tentatively scheduled this year for Wednesday,
November 9th, in Pearson Hall at Grace Lutheran Church, across NE 8th St
from us. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. Ballots and
budget information will be mailed the latter part of October, per our
By-Laws. Anyone who is interested in running for election to the board
should contact us at this time.
