Hi all,
I took the time to upstream some of the patches about pjsip/pjproject
that are available inside GNU Ring release 20170524.2.745efce
([[http://dl.ring.cx/ring-release/tarballs/ring_20170524.2.745efce.tar.gz]],
at "ring-project/daemon/contrib/src/pjproject").
Here is a summary of the improvements:
-
Add option to use GnuTLS (works around possible license violation
depending on how OpenSSL is linked:
-
Disable tests applications.
-
Enable IPv6.
-
Fix TURN fallback.
-
Configure ICE.
-
Add DTLS transport.
Some of these fixes had to be checked manually because of different line
offsets or absense of items to remove or to refer to.
Please contact GNU Ring project for more information. I'm just a normal
user who wants to upstream patches so as to make work easier for everyone.
Respectfully, Adonay.

Hi Adonay,
Thank you for the effort and bringing up such the patch here. But I am
afraid currently we can only take a contribution from the author itself.

Hello Nanang,
These patches were developed by Savoir-faire Linux for GNU Ring.
I will be your contact at Savoir-faire Linux regarding the patches.
We would like to contribute them to pjsip.
What can we do to move forward with this?
I am CC-in Tzafrir Cohen, the Debian maintainer of pjproject, who is
currently considering applying the patches in the Debian's pjsip package.
Cheers,

Hi all,
This message is just to let you know that due to a set of issues I
decided to give up on making and maintaining Guix recipes for GNU Ring
and all its dependencies (this includes pjproject/PJSIP). If you want
more information (also in case someone decides to continue the work),
please see [1].

Hi Alexandre,
Sorry that it takes a while for the patch to be integrated. We finally
checked it in, with a few modifications, in ticket #2082
(https://trac.pjsip.org/repos/ticket/2082).
Thanks for the contribution.
Best regards,
Ming
