Hi Folks,

New families (adults with fledglings) coming to my rather urban yard in New Haven to feed on the serviceberries and splash in the pond include Baltimore Orioles, Grackles (noisy!), Blue Jays, House Finches and Sparrows (ugh), and Robins.  Today, a Red-Eyed Vireo flew through the fountain droplets a few times.

One Robin has what appears to be scaly leg disease--its legs are coated with rough-looking, whitish scales.

House Wrens have fledged a family already; Mourning Doves several.  Catbirds and Downy Woodpeckers are carrying food to nearby nests.  Strangely normal for my yard the three years I've been here is the complete lack of Chickadees.  A lone female Flicker has been around for a week.
