I have to send this in small segments since I am traveling.  The number one problem was saw was the owner was not prepared for the voyage.  The fantisy of the voyage was much different than the reality of the voyage.  The reality problems are fatigue, motion sickness, crowded continions, lack of experience and the judgement to make correct decisions, mechanical problems, with inability of the crew to make repairs themselves.

The next most common cause was close to the crew incompatablity--but involved couples where one was more committed than the other.  The most committed was at times the female.  Many of these ended in divorce.  If there were marital relation problems before the voyage, the usually intensified.  Some people thought that a cruise would improve the relationship.  Generally it will make the couple closer, if they are able to communicate and each contribute 80% to the success of the voyage.
