My wife and I had a look and came away impressed in some ways and
disappointed in others. On the plus side, I was very impressed with the
layout: great space for the length of the boat. Nice open "pilot
house", comfortable salon, full-width master stateroom, and a good size
guest suite plus two big heads. Personally I'd put an office in one
sponson.
On the minus side, I was surprised to hear that they had switched from
the Glacier Bay system to the Ossa PowerLite system ... Or was it Steyr?
In any case, the speed numbers are down from the earlier projections. I
believe they once claimed the boat could cruise in the mid-teens with
generators running, but it seems that's now closer to 10 knots. I asked
one of the reps about offshore performance and he was pretty clear that
it's fair weather boat -- I got the impression that it's more so than
your typical coastal cruiser. You could take it to the Bahamas with a
good weather window and all, but....
Over all the fit and finish seemed to be about on par with other trawler
cats I've seen, meaning not quite up to the level of the better
monohulls.
Could be an excellent boat for the Loop.

Island Pilot's DSE catamaran hybrid debuted at Ft.
Lauderdale a few weeks ago. Their web site doesn't provide
much more information than it did earlier. I was wondering
if any listees toured the boat, took any pictures, or have
heard about any additional sales. When I briefly talked to
Reuben Trane at Trawlerfest Solomons he said hull #1 had
been sold and there were several buyers who were waiting to
see that hull before committing.
