What would you estimate that your "average" engine rpm would have been for this
2200 hours?

After 2200 hours on a Ford Lehman 135 HP engine, I can say with some confidence
that the hourly fuel consumption on such an engine, in a single engine trawler
(gross weight 22,000 pounds) is about 2.3 gallons per hour at 7.5 kts.

Then again compared to a single screw trawler with
say a 135 hp diesel, your probably looking at 3-4 gals/hr and twins probably
5-6 gals/hr.
I would certainly agree for long term cruising the safety factor of the fuel
type for me at least is a major consideration.
