From William Huber with Jeremy Nance:
01/01/15 - Easton(?), Aspetuck Reservoir -- at the fountain (now off)
(on Route 58 about a mile north of Route 136/Westport Road) --  great
looks at a male WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL in a pine just south of the
parking pull-out.  It was associating loosely with a mixed finch flock
containing American Goldfinches and one PINE SISKIN.

01/01/15 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- Grasshopper
Sparrow continues in NW corner of Nature center parking lot and also
in grass north of nature center by wooden benches.

01/01/15 - Wallingford, McKenzie Res -- Greater White-fronted Goose
continues to continue.

01/01/15 - Meriden, Hanover Pond -- 9:00 AM; Redheads seen in open
water by ball field.

01/01/15 - Woodbridge, Lake Dawson -- small collection of ducks on the
remaining open water. The group contained at least 4 Northern Pintail.

01/01/15 - Preston, Amos Lake -- REDHEAD (drake). Open water
throughout!
Avery Pond -- SNOW GOOSE (along with 1,000 plus CANADA GEESE w/ other
wildfowl).
Stonington, Parke Memorial Preserve (Avalonia) -- NORTHERN PINTAIL.

01/01/15 - Plainfield, Quinebaug Fish Hatchery -- Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker.

01/01/15 - Harwinton, yard -- 4 Pine Siskin (in with 5 Goldfinch) at
feeder.

01/01/15 - Wethersfield, Wethersfield Cove -- 2 ICELAND GULLS in water
near the parking lot, GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE on other side of
cove which is probably the same bird as previously seen in Goodwin
Park and 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS.
Hartford, Goodwin Park -- CACKLING GOOSE and BRANT continue. They were
in the pond on the east side of the golf course which can be accessed
from Hubbard Road.

01/01/15 - Middlefield -- 2 SNOW GEESE in the cornfields by Lyman
Orchard, one adult, one juvenile.

to) Phil Rusch:
01/01/15 - Milford, Milford Point -- Snowy Owl continues at the far
right side of sandbar.  The Snow Buntings were seen flying at the
beginning of the point.

01/01/15 - Ledyard, Avery Pond -- SNOW GOOSE.
Norwich, just east of the Harbor - BLACK VULTURE (3).
Waterford, Harkness Park -- GREAT CORMORANT, PURPLE SANDPIPER (3),
SNOW BUNTING (just one) and COMMON EIDER (only 2f).

Bonaparte’s Gull.

lifting off the tree tops near the soccer fields.
