Hi Guys!
Is it worth driving up from Morehead for the swap meet, do they have a good
turn out? Is the museum open earlier in the day? Thought I might bring
some of our new hams up, just had 12 students get their tickets here! We are
highly encouraging our space science kids to become hams!

Hi Jeff,
Congratulations on bringing 12 students into ham radio!! Are you grooming them to be VHF/UHF/EME operators?
Ohio stations sure would like more activity from KY, especially during the contests.
It’s about a 2-1/2 hour drive each way to Voice of America in West Chester I think, so not worth it for just the swap meet.
I will forward your email to the VOA radio club president Dennis, N8PG (who is a professor at Univ. of Cin.).
If the VOA radio club can have the museum open with a tour guide and also have their nice radio station available
for your students to operate, that would add more. So we’ll see how Dennis responds.
I’m sure there will be other opportunities - they will have another swap meet in the spring. I can keep you aware of future event dates.

Jeff...
Is there anything in particular you and your students are looking for?

Hi Jeff...
Every so often the guys at MVUS bring up the topic of what we could do to support MSU's space science program. We have ideas but they always seem to run into questions of needing way too much manpower or simply overcoming the geographic distance. That doesn't mean we've lost our enthusiasm for helping out. What would help us the most is knowing what we could do that would really be helpful; maybe taking on something that is important but time-consuming for you. It could be an on-going task or a one-time project. It's something that takes a visit periodically, that's ok with us.
Your thoughts?
