Anyone cruising the lower Hudson River this weekend might check out the
Hudson River Festival on June 21, 22, and 23. This is a big
Woodstocklike party held at Croton Park. It was started a number of
years ago by the late singer Pete Seger and has been held annually in
several locations. If you attended Woodstock (or wanted to) it is not
to be missed. Anchoring is free in the bay north of Croton Point. Its
the best anchorage in the Hudson with 8' of water covering a hard sand
bottom. You can dinghy the short distance to the park or to the Croton
town dock. Croton has excellent restaurants and shopping. Here is the
