Kevin,

Here is the Canadian Customs site where you will find answers to any
question you might have.
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/noncan-eng.html

Bottom line is you may take a limited amount of alcohol into Canada (all
details on their website) and yes, you can take your dog. The following is
required;

a.. a signed rabies vaccination certificate;
OR

a.. a signed veterinary certificate, declaring that the dog is originating
from a country recognized by Canada as being rabies-free.

Also on the website.

I have taken my dog to Canada by both boat and auto.  No problem
whatsoever.  Same as bringing her into the US - no one even asked for
rabies data.
With wine and liquor I respond with "ship stores only"  - no
further questions.

Earl,

I agree that over 99% of the time there are no issues. My intent was to
point out what the law is. What an individual does is their own business. I
can say that when I did the Great Loop I witnessed Canadian Customs, at
Confederation Basin,  boarding a vessel who had more liquor than permitted,
even though he described it as "ship stores". The owner was not happy when
escorted from his vessel.
