Pierce County Employees might just be the most knowledgeable in the State when it comes to understanding Sustainability.  In December of 2013, 1,872 Pierce County employees took our fourth annual sustainability survey.

Here are just a few highlights.

ü  94% Consider Sustainability in their jobs

ü  94% Know wood smoke is the leading cause of our air quality problem

ü  94% Say their department has made an effort to reduce energy use

ü  90% Say their departments buys office supplies with recycled content

ü  81% Are familiar with sustainability and can explain it to others

ü  73% Know that idling your car wastes lots of gas

Do you have a personal printer at work that you do not need?  Please contact your Technology Coordinator (in your department) or your IT GSD Rep to have it properly recycled.

The department that removes the most printers will be recognized in the February Newsletter.
