CCWC Members and Friends,

Please join the Chambers-Clover Watershed Council for a field trip and volunteer event on Friday, November 6th, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The morning will include field trip sites focusing on several of the restoration and conservation sites on Clover Creek, working from the upper reaches down to the lower part of the watershed.  We'll visit the three significant sites on the creek, including the Naches Trail Preserve, Pierce County's Clover Creek restoration project, and Parkland Prairie.  In the afternoon, we'll help to restore riparian habitat at Parkland Prairie by planting native trees and shrubs.  Special thanks to Pierce Conservation District and the Cascade Land Conservancy for coordinating our planting event!

When:  9 a.m. to noon
Where:  Meet at Parkland Prairie -- Limited parking area is available onsite at the intersection of Tule Lake Road and Yakima Avenue in Parkland.  Otherwise, please park safely nearby and walk to the site.  Kindly do not block the gate.

Sites include:  1) Naches Trail Preserve -- A 50-acre preserve purchased by Pierce County Surface Water Management with a long-range plan for stewardship by Cascade Land Conservancy;  2) Clover Creek Restoration Project -- Pierce County SWM has completed Phase 3 of this multi-year project to restore riparian and aquatic habitat;  3) Parkland Prairie -- South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group recently finished a project to remove the asphalt lining from the creek bed.
