Ontario birders:
Here's a quote from Jean Iron's post this morning in Ontario Birds Discord:
"Not sure how to break the news. We just met a guy releasing Gray
Partridge. He released one on north side and one in woodlot on south side.
He uses them to train his dog. He doesn’t hunt them. We watched him walk
out to the woodlot with a box and open it at the woodlot."
We had hoped these were a remnant population in an area where they had
previously bred. Not so!
Good birding,
Barb Charlton
