Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsToday is the day. "Larry The Lock" opened his valves this morning, and my
boat is starting to rest on the mud. The level is now down only a foot and
the back end is riding high at the moment, but the boat is still level.
She's in about 2 1/2 feet of water right now. Draft is 3 1/2 feet.
The tension is really heavy here ...
Will she press her keel into the mud, or will she roll over? I'm thinking
a bit of each but only the next few hours will tell. If she heels over, I
have the garden hose standing by to erode the mud a bit and let her
straighten up...

Hi Fred,
Is this the way you store for the winter? I assume you winterize.
