THIS WEEK IN TRI CLUB (November 9-15) and GFC WEEK 4 ROLL CALL!
We're now through the first four of 13 fall GFC weeks and we have an
amazing 59 athletes that have completed at least one GFC challenge and this
includes the following 27 that are a perfect 8 for 8 so far... Brittany
Acosta, Chris Acosta, Jill Basile, Amelia Blythe, Kerri Brannen, Sonny
Dayrit, Karen Dieciedue, Allie Doyle, Angela Epelbaum, Susan Flavin, Keith
Ho, Brian Kozera, Sheri Kuss, Kristen Lourie, Don Mack, Shawn O'Malley,
Ralph Owens, Jennifer Raab, Matt Ritter, Jens Sydor, Chris Townsley, Joyce
Williams, and Beth Wysoczanski plus the following Jr. Gators/Gator Tots...
Jack Epelbaum, Juliana Kelecic, Katie Kelecic, and Hailey Raab!!
The motto of the GFC is "It's never too late to start!" so whether you are
on the list above or haven't completed a single challenge (this is the
week), we welcome you to participate!
And we'd also like to announce the next winner of a pair of Gator arm
warmers in the GFC "We're All Winners, But Five of Us Got Something for It"
contest...
Ralph Owens!!!
Congrats to Ralph! Who will be this week's winner? If you completed at
least one of last week's two weekly GFC challenges, it could be you!
If you are participating in the fall edition of the Gator Fitness
Challenge, each Monday we'll post a "Roll Call" where you can comment back
about your results for the week, in this case Week 4 that ran from Monday
10/26 through Sunday 11/1... Your reply can be as simple as "SBR" if you
completed the Swim/Bike/Run Challenge (30 minutes of each with caveat that
you can substitute additional run or cycling due to the currented limited
swim options) or "SCF" if you completed the Strength/Core/Flexibility
Challenge (30 minutes total of any combination) or "Both" if you completed
both; and feel free to get more creative with your responses if you'd like.
Note that we do have a downward trend since week 1... 100 challenges
completed in week 1, 93 in week 2, and 78 in week 3... This week besides
getting out to vote, we are also calling on you to get out and Gator Done
on the GFC challenges so that we can reverse the trend!
Also, this serves as your "This Week in Tri Club" post with a rundown of
the week's club activities. We do not have any events that we're aware of
on our athlete event calendar (let us know if we're wrong), but we do have
some later in the month including the YMCA's Gobble Wobble 5K and several
athletes taking on IRONMAN races plus the Gators Indoor Tri is scheduled
for Sunday, December 13 (see "Events")... More to come on all of that soon!
Just a reminder to please observe social distancing before, during, and
after our workouts and always have a mask with you as those are the best
way to ensure that we can continue to offer club cycling, running, and swim
workouts.
Here is what is on the calendar for this week; to assist us with planning,
please use the workout attendance survey under "Announcements" and at this
link to let us know whether or not you plan to attend any events...
