Foss Waterway Seaport is excited to be partnering with our colleagues at Salish Sea Expeditions and Service, Education and Adventure on a Professional Development opportunity for teachers on Saturday October 19th and Sunday October 20th. The focus of the workshop is on bringing "science alive" - focusing on watershed education, inquiry, field based STEM programs and building strong school / community partnerships. Cost is only $20.00 - and day two of the workshop will be aboard the beautiful 61-foot sailing vessel Carlyn, and will include hands on boat based learning rotations - including a microplastics tow and presentation by UW researcher Julie Masura. The workshop will be based out of Foss Waterway Seaport (705 Dock Street) in Tacoma - hours are 10-2 both days. Free clock hours.
