02/22/2012 Harris's Sp, Trumpeters

From Frank Gallo with Marion Aimesbury:
02/22/12 - Lebanon -- After waiting 50 minutes the Harris's Sparrow
showed itself briefly at 12:27 pm, then continued to make brief visits
until 12:50 pm when we left.

From Janis LaPointe:
02/22/12 - Woodbridge, Warren Rd, Konold's Pond -- two Trumpeter
Swans; I left a 3:30 pm and they were mostly resting with heads
tucked.
Lebanon, Norwich Rd -- The Harris's Sparrow  was observed from 4:40 to
5:10 pm.

02/22/12 - Woodbridge, Konold's Pond, observed from the ridge top --
(11:45 AM- 12:15 PM); 2 TRUMPETER SWANS continue, now south of the
island and close in to the west shore.  One Northern Pintail observed.
Common Raven nest-building advances, with the central bowl being lined
with soft material and taking shape.

02/22/12 - Storrs, UConn -- the Nortern Shrike at UConn was seen by
several students in the UConn bird group in the morning.

02/22/12 - East Hartford, Hockanum Linear Trail off Elm Street --
Red-headed Woodpecker still hanging out by 2 bridges of trail that
goes to the right. His head is indeed red. He's maturing fast. Very
quiet otherwise.

02/22/12 - Simsbury, Great Pond -- 3 COMMON RAVENS weaving in and out
of the pines playing tag.

02/22/12 - South Windsor, Station 43 -- morning, the Newberry Road
section, 19 Northern Pintails.

02/22/12 - Stratford, foot of Fifth Ave -- 1 NORTHERN GANNET, 1
Bonaparte's Gull.  No sign of the wintering adult Iceland Gull here
for the past 5 days.

02/22/12 - Shelton, Lane St, Rec Path -- YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, BROWN
CREEPER.  Both birds were about .4 miles southeast of Lane St where a
small trail goes to the right toward the stream. The Creeper was by
the trail junction. The Chat was about 40 feet past where the small
trail ends at a downed tree. It was by the stream.

02/22/12 - Fairfield, Pine Creek Open Space -- 1 WINTER WREN.

02/21/12 - Stratford, Lordship, Long Beach -- 4 pm; Iceland Gull was
between a group of Gulls and the rock jetty near the house flying the
U.S. flag.

02/22/12 - New Haven, East Rock Park -- 2:15-3:40 pm; 2 Brown Creeper,
one Common Raven.
