Google Earth is a free application available from Google. It downloads software to your computer that gives you the ability to view just about any spot on earth. Various locations are available, some in higher resolution than others. The images are not CIA, read the license plate on a car quality, but they are good enough to see cars, boats, airplanes and the like. Chris has created a "community" where we can keep track of the Idlewild journey. As a matter of fact, anyone can create a community. I'll let Chris explain how he did it, because I tried without success.
It takes a reasonable computer to run Google Earth, you don't want to run it on a really old system. Many people find themselves looking up places they use to live, or places of interest. There are lots of interesting things that people have made note of, including aircraft in flight, strange land formations, and ships at sea.
You can download Google Earth at: http://earth.google.com/
Hope this helps, let us know if you are using Google Earth to follow Idlewild, or if we are being a pain in the bottom with all this talk! Thanks, Scott
Chris has updated the Idlewild track. You can simply visit the url below to keep track of the journey!

Scott or Chris--
What is Google Earth and where can it be downloaded? How about a few
words of introduction for the technologically handicapped?

For those of you that would like to follow the journey via Google
Earth, Chris Byer is maintaining a Community Page where the kzm file
is available for download. If you have not tried Google Earth, your
in for quite a surprise. This is a great tool for viewing remote
locations. Some places are higher resolution than others, but in
general it's all very helpful.
It is available at the following URL:

Thanks Chris!
