The Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) has just opened the recruiting process for a temporary/non-permanent administrative position to support our Grants to Organizations and Arts in Education programs.

Do you have strong administrative skills and an enthusiastic interest in public funding for the arts and arts education? ArtsWA is looking for a strong team player to support two program managers in a busy department. Duties include grant panel support, management of contracts and invoices, management and tracking of grantee final reports, program budget tracking, and other duties related to our Community Investments programs. Learn more about those programs here: https://www.arts.wa.gov/grants/grants-to-organizations and https://www.arts.wa.gov/arts-in-education.
This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to manage multiple overlapping projects and deadlines. This position acts as primary contact with constituents, grantees, and applicants and thus requires a strong appreciation of quality customer care. A high level of proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based programs is required. Background in the arts or arts education is a plus, but not required.
This is a temporary position that starts in mid-May and will end in early December, providing coverage for a current staff member who will be on maternity leave. The position will be 30-40hrs/week for four months and 10-20hrs/week for two months. We are interested in finding someone who is the right fit for this unique temporary position; the exact schedule and hours per week may be negotiable, though all work must take place during regular office hours, and all work must be done in person at the ArtsWA office in downtown Olympia.
