I am in the SW of the UK, and work as a surveyor and consultant
specialising in multi's, (
http://www.multihullsurveys.comwww.multihullsurveys.com). I have
built and sailed sailing cats for thirty years and, having built
more than thirty cruising multihulls from various designers,
including the smallest catamaran to complete a circumnavigation and
a Single Handed Transatlantic Race class winner, have recently got
interested in power cats.

My first power cat project, a 30' cat with modestly sized twin
diesels, owners stateroom with his and hers en-suite heads and
showers, climate control, 230v cooking etc, couldn't be more
different from the sailing cats I've previously been involved with.
The cat is designed to the "Freycinet" limit: fitting the locks of
the major European inland waterways, and has a designed cruising
speed of 8 knots with top speed of about 12 knots, with very low
fuel consumption. you can see her at
http://www.aquacat-catamarans.comWWW.aquacat-catamarans.com . The
first boat is due for launch early summer 2006.

Aquacat Catamarans have several other power cats in the pipeline,
including work boats and a 38' version of the cruiser. I hope to be
involved with the development of these boats in due course.

Welcome aboard, Steve!

That's a remarkable amount of accommodation you've managed to squeeze
into a 30-footer, albeit one with more than 16 feet of beam.

Let us know how the sea trails go next year.
