Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsHi George, Thanks!
We're still playing around ... trying to figure out the right combination of ship's instruments and data, e-charting apps, and multiplexors (hard-wired, BT or WiFi) ... but it seems pretty clear that more objective metrics and graphically-rich information will be available for all of us to share soon.
Claiborne, Virgil, and John are doing the Survice/EarthNC thing. That's already hit the Salty Southeast Cruisers Net and I wouldn't be surprised to see it roll out to other EarthNC partners.
And some Wiki sites (ActiveCaptain, USHarbors, et al) will undoubtedly evolve to provide depth data also.
Exciting times!
Mark

That's a great set of graphics Mark, as well as the supporting dialogue. How did you develop that info on the charts?
