Subject: Missadventure of Valentine

Dear Family and friends. In August of 2010 Valentine was stern to the current of a flood in Canagaharie NY and the engine got a 3 day emema and was not started for an additional 3 days. When started where was a water lock ( water in the cylinders) from the exhaust enema. She was the on the hard for 1 1/2 years as I was ill the following summer. On our return June 2012 the engine started with great difficulty. The valves were adjusted and the injectors replaced. The cylinders were boresighted, and severe rust and corrosion were noted. The engine is to be pulled and rebuilt/repaired/replaced, so we are returning home to San Bernardino on Friday June 15; Jet Blue Syracuse to JFK to Long Beach, arriving home around midnight. Hopefully next summer will be better. Jon.

Jon: what type of boat/engine do you have?  Would a flapper-boot on the exhaust have helped or did you have one?  Certainly hope you get her back healthy soon!  Matt
