Good turnout last night, Boys. Lots of new faces, many with solid skills
and experience to bring to our team. What we are missing is a number of our
veteran core. If you missed last night, then get to practice tomorrow.
Our first scheduled D2 and D3 games in March are against Highlanders and
Glendale, respectively. You all know that we need redemption for those fall
matchups. We also need to win the second halves this spring--especially
against Park City, Provo, and Queen City--and we need to be running full
bore come the 80th minute to win these games.
That means that we need to GET FIT NOW. Tuesday and Thursday practices are
about getting our ball skills sharpened up and easing into fitness. But
each and every one of us needs to be running--even Horsemeat is doing
it--and getting cardio in everyday, starting today.
Barbos have been practicing for three weeks now (including in our spot at
Wash Park), and they are not the only ones. Get in the gym and lift, run,
bike, and row yourselves into a winning mindset. We have a new coach coming
in around whom we can build a strong program. One who plans to stay and
help us take this team to the next level.
Get in shape, get excited to smash some people, get to practice, and get
prepared to compete under the new regime.

Quins,
As most of you know, I haven't played since October 2013. Between the job and school, there just hasn't been a lot of time. I'm currently diving into tax season now, so coming out now just isn't possible. However, I've been pissed ever since my last game because rugby career temporarily ended with a shoulder injury. That being said, I'm coming back. I'm currently looking at a return late this season around March 24 (hopefully). To say I'm out of shape would be a compliment when considering how bad it got. I've got a small gym here at the office, so if anyone can help with developing a plan to get me back to game form please email me and I'll let you know what I've got to work with here. Also, our coaches have always preached to reach out to vets to see where they're at and to get them out to practice. Casey texted me last night to check in, and that was enough for me to realize I wanted to play again. It works! So keep reaching out to people, and I'll see you guys later in the spring.
