Wilmington airport is closer at 40 miles, still quite a ways. A better option would be to cruise single handed to Dock Holidays Marina in Myrtle Beach which is only 20 miles north of the airport. There are 3 other marinas much closer to the Myrtle Beach airport, if that is your chosen solution: 1) Grande Dunes (10 miles), very foo-foo, abt $2/ft with dockhands wearing "love boat" epulated white shirts, 2) Hague Marina (4 miles), cheap and barebones, and 3) Osprey Marina (6 miles), nice and clean, moderate If you do the trip down from Holden these would add another 1 to 2 hours by boat. -- Jim Ague M/V Derreen
