Tom,
There is an international airport at Myrtle Beach.  Your wife could get a
taxi from there to Holden Beach.  It is 53 miles.  You could call a taxi service
for an estimate.  Here is one such taxi 843 272 0009.
Wilmington airport is closer at 40 miles, still quite a ways.
A better option would be to cruise single handed to Dock Holidays Marina in
Myrtle Beach which is only 20 miles north of the airport.  Not only would it
be a shorter taxi ride but the marina could arrange a pick-up from the airport.

A better option would be to cruise single handed to Dock Holidays Marina
in
Myrtle Beach which is only 20 miles north of the airport.

There are 3 other marinas much closer to the Myrtle Beach airport, if that
is your chosen solution:

  1. Grande Dunes (10 miles), very foo-foo, abt $2/ft with dockhands wearing
    "love boat" epulated white shirts,

  2. Hague Marina (4 miles), cheap and barebones, and

  3. Osprey Marina (6 miles), nice and clean, moderate

If you do the trip down from Holden these would add another 1 to 2 hours by
boat.
