Hi Everyone,
Since a lot of you e-mailed me when I mentioned about my having a

35' 6" Power Cat built here in Thailand, and you asked for pics once it got
underway, I will live to my promise to those of you who wanted to keep tabs
on it.
We are into week # 11, (but really week # 8 if we talk about when
the construction got truly underway).
I have a few pictures of where we are now, so anyone interested can
e-mail me, and I will be happy to send a few photos to you. (Sorry I don't
have a website like most of you, so I guess I need to do it this way ....
Hope I don't get a hundred requests hehe!!!).
I know many people who have had nightmares building boats, and I
have read about some here on this list.
As this is my ONLY hobby, (other than working and doing the Family
thing), and the building of it is as important a part of the fun/thrill than
using it, I was very, very worried about having the same experience. I guess
in honesty I made a few builders nuts as I went to great lengths to try to
make sure that the Builder and I were compatible, and that it would be an
honest, fair, and high-quality  process.
To date, I must say, I have had nothing but great fun, and an
incredible education with the Builder I am using. I am really lucky that the
Boatyard is only an hour and a half from my home!!!! My young Son (6 years
old),  goes with me each weekend up to the Boatyard, and he now says he
wants to be a boatbuilder just like Uncle Geoff!! (the Builder).
The bow in the original design was quite stubby and round-looking,
however, Geoff and his Engineer did a wonderful re-design job to develop
what I think will be gorgeous looking lines.
This, in addition to a swim platform we are adding, will probably
make this more like a Cat 37 than a Cat 35 .... but then .....whose counting
hehe!!!!!
I am really enjoying all the posts on this list, and keep learning a
lot, so hopefully I can give you back some interest by sending those of you
who are interested a few photos.
Have a great day!
Mike
