Hi Scott,
Toss the $@!*&% teflon tape (the devil's own!) and buy some Rectorseal #5 at
your favorite hardware store. If you buy it in a tube, store it upside down;
if in a can, stir well before use; the oil rises to the top when stored. Apply
sparingly, beginning 2 threads back from the end of the (male) fitting, and
tighten well.
