I will buy a boat to be docked in Puget Sound sometime next year. My budget

boat.

I suggest you pick up (free) or subscribe to ($15.00/year) "NORTHWEST
YACHTING" magazine. They can be reached at (206)789-8116. A recent issue
listed approx. 32 trawlers that fit your parameters (34 - 36 feet and $40k -
$100k).

For those living on the Sound what is Northern
marina with available slips and affordability.  If we move the Sound we will
be in Edmonds, but I know it has a waiting list.

The same publication carried 17 classified ads for moorage (mostly
dockuminiums). Be forwarned, 35 to 40 foot moorage is very popular these
days and you could be looking at a signifigant wait at most marinas. As an
example we waited 6 months for a 30' slip in LaConner (about an hour north
of Edmonds) whereas the wait for a 35' or 40' slip is estimated to be 2 to 4
years). Availability may be better on the other side of the Sound at
Kingston or Poulsbo.

Good luck, and let us know what you find!

Thanks Alex, I'll get the magazine. I know finding a slip will take some
searching. I have some interest in a partnership too, which might make
everything easier if the partner already has a trawler. Ron
