Understood, and I too can get the same if I use gmail. But I've been using
Forte's using Agent as my PC email client for over 30 years and in all
other respects I far respects I far prefer it. And I strongly dislike
gmail.

After further research i think that Agent fails in this way because it does
not support IMAP.

So what happens in Forte when you have a conversation with an
individual rather than a mailing list? Do you see your own posts
interleaved with their's?

...because neither have appeared in my OpenSCAD inbox folder.

nop head: You were asking about what I see in Agent. Most of my incoming
email appears in a folder imaginatively called Inbox, in familiar
format. I have another folder called Sent. And, coming slightly back OT,
one I've called 'OpenSCAD emails'. Filters route incoming mail
appropriately.

Attached is a screenshot of what I see now in the folder under
discussion. Note that only seven emails on 'Any feedback' appear, yet 13
have been posted, as you can see on Empathy.

Both tools share the common flaw of frequently splitting up a topic into
several, making quick browsing unnecessarily difficult.

larry: Thanks for the offer but the issue is not "I can't see my posts".
I can look in 'Sent' and/or in Empathy, and if I always remember, I can
bcc to my BT address. My gripe is "I can't see them chronologically, in
one place."

Despite my affection for Agent, for OpenSCAD activity I think I'll
switch to Gmail in my browser and select All Mail.

Of course, a FORUM would suit me a lot better ;-)

Does Agent not have a group by thread view?

I don't understand why you expect your own posts echoed back from the
mailserver.  When you send to anybody else, they won't echo your posts, so
do you never see your posts interleaved with the replies?

In gmail you don't need to use the All  Mail folder. My posts show in the
inbox grouped by subject title until I archive them or delete them. Then I
would have to look in All Mail or Bin.

Before gmail I used Thunderbird and that had a group by thread option.
