While not a hybrid in the traditional diesel electric sense, it's interesting
for those who have talked about a smaller, less expensive version of the
Dashew FPM Windhorse.
I'd imagine for the weight of the rig, one could add the additional fuel to
more than double the range if you wanted a pure power cruiser. Or something
in
the middle, with perhaps a smaller rig to continue to provide propulsion and
stability and modestly more fuel.
In the end, I'm not sure why this is any more of a hybrid then any offshore
sailboat that spends a good chunk of it's time under power.
