Re: [time-nuts] Frequency multiplication

I'd give a ballpark estimate of 20-30 dB isolation between the two on a Virtex 2.

Usually GPS receivers have DOP figures you can use to estimate the position precision. Maybe worth using timing receivers for position to increase the position accuracy. On Thu, Nov 24, 2011 at 1:01 PM, ehydra wrote: > Hi all!

I used to go out of my way to make sure my buyers were paying the actual shipping costs, but after all ebay's changes, it's easier to estimate worse case shipping coast to coast, or do free shipping with plenty of shipping built into the fixed price.

Re: [time-nuts] OT - DC-10 gyros

I estimate the power draw is < 2 watts. Haven't measured the inductance. I probably could just use some FETs and build a simple class-B amp. The sine wave doesn't have to be absolutely pure. Frequency stability (at least, in a real application) is more important, since the gyro response depends upon the rotational speed of the wheel.

The UT+ out puts the estimated error in the PPS and I guess a very sophisticated GPSDO would use that data to correct the phase measurement. From memory, I think with a UT+ the error in the PPS goes up to about 50 ns. (I have a couple UT+) -- Chris Albertson Redondo Beach, California

Re: [time-nuts] Measuring TV delays

Cheers, Magnus =========================== There seems to be a mis-perception that folk might estimate a fixed delay and somehow use the data as a source of time. That was certainly never my thinking, but simply to observe the delays, and see what values might be obtained. I've contributed one, rather uncertain, data point.

. >>> Hint: the holdover estimator does not handle warmup as well as it should Thanks for the interesting responses. Especially interesting re importance of accurate location / using low elevation sats / sky view / warm-up.

The cross-correlation catastrophe
Tue, Jan 26, 2016 7:07 AM
Thus, there is a bias in the estimation and overoptimistic or even seemingly physically impossible (until you understand the mechanics). This have been occupying the mind of some of the best folks we have in the field. Just interacting and discussing this with some of them have been a great learning experience.

Any estimate on when they will ship new firmware? Has anybody else noticed the problem? (I tried google news and NANOG but didn't find anything.) -- These are my opinions. I hate spam.
